Contractor: Strategies Against Violence Everywhere (SAVE)
Qualifications
(mandatory) • Experience being member of a college step team. Coaching experience a plus.
• Prior experience as a youth worker.
• Enjoy working with, being a role model and leader to teenagers.
• College Degree a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Report to SAVESNet coordinator on all issues relating to performance Team.
• Hold try outs as needed and in a timely manner. Select members of the
SAVESNet program. Assist in identifying and recruiting students for
Team membership.
• Facilitate weekly practices for at least one hour with Team
230-430 pm at Linden McKinley High School, 100 E. Arcadia Ave.
Columbus, 43202. SAVESNet Coordinator to be present at all Team related
activities.
• Coordinate and accompany Team to at least 4 performances per year.
• Work within budget for Team expenses. All purchases will need to be approved by the SAVESNet Coordinator.
• Provide transportation to Team Performances if needed.
• Establish rules of conduct for Team members with the SAVESNet
Coordinator. Implement consistent discipline measures with coordinator
to allow success for all members.
• Participate in the evaluation process, monitor program, and complete necessary paperwork.
• Be an appropriate role model and mentor for Team members and LMHS students.
• Properly represent SAVE and its mission.
• Choreograph routines that are age appropriate, align with SAVE
mission, clearly promote a violence free message and fit within the
time limits requested by host.
• Use and modify music and material that align with SAVE’s mission.
• Communicate to school, faculty, staff, and administration the
Team’s mission, goals, and activities, and encourage their involvement
• Conflicts with any SAVESNet stakeholder, student, parent, school
staff, and/or SAVE staff are to be handled appropriately and be brought
to the SAVESNet Coordinator immediately.
• In the event of a canceled practice a 24 hour notice is expected
by contacting the SAVESNet Coordinator by phone or person to person.
All practices will need reschedule.
• Use good judgment and appropriate behavior with children.
• Track practices and performance times by attendance and date for proper invoicing.
• Your contract with SAVE is contingent upon acceptable results
from your background check. Please call Stephanie Hughes at 233-6368 to
set you appointment for the check as soon as possible. Must be complete
every two years.
• Any personal or SAVE related incidences involving the consultant
that could shed a negative light on SAVE’s public reputation must be
brought to the SAVESNet Coordinator’s attention immediately.
• Provide proof of valid Ohio driver’s license and current car
insurance (at least Ohio minimum) to the Executive Director via the
SAVESNet Coordinator.
• Mileage will be reimbursed for travel to and from performances
at .505 per mile. An expense report should be handed in quarterly with
invoice.
All services will be planned and presented in coordination with
the SAVESNet Coordinator, who will approve any plans prior to
implementation.
Contract period: January-May 2010
Base fee for contract period: $750 (for January- May).
o Compensation is expected to cover contract services.
o Fees will be paid within 30 days after a properly documented invoice is received from contractor.
o Invoices should be emailed to the Executive Director and cc to the Coordinator within two weeks of end of contract period.
o Invoices should include: name and address check should be sent
to, invoice number, dates covered in period, and individual list of
step team work with dates and times
Contract cancellation: Either party in this contract may, with a
30-day written notification to the other party, cancel this contract.
Services rendered to date will be paid in case of cancellation.
