The SAVESNet @ Heyl program is led by SAVE staff
member,
Laura Cook. SAVESNet @ Heyl
members are invited to participate in weekly meetings and other
activities throughout the school year as well as joining the SAVESNet @
Heyl Step Team.

Here's what the kids at Heyl Elementary
are saying...
“I learned from Leaders Lunch Crew
is being leaders. Showing what you done in the past is now in the
future. SAVENet shows you many steps. Leaders Lunch Crew is a good
group to go to. If you come you will change your way.” (Eisha, 5th
grade)
“I am proud of SAVESNet. I like
raffles, Bingo, playing outside with my SAVESNet friends, being and
talking about Bully Free. Next time, I want to be on the step team in
middle school. SAVESNet wants us to be full of respect. The SAVE
teacher says Yo, Yo, Yo, listen up. We say, Yo, Yo, what’s up. At the
Violence free dance Ms. Cook did that and all the SAVESNet knew it was
time to listen. We are the only group that does this and I like it.
SAVESNet is a lot of fun. (Eleni, 5th grade)
“In Leaders Lunch Crew I learned not
to do violence, not to do drugs, not to smoke, and not to do anything
like that. I learned to be respectful to others, to listen to the
teachers, and not bully anyone.” (Brooklyn, 4th grade)
“I do not fight or hit people. I do
not bully. I like SAVE because I can be violence free.” (Dasha, 3rd
grade)
“I can be non violence by not
getting in no fight or trouble. I can be non violence many ways: not
fighting, not going to PEAK, not getting expelled. You should no do
drugs and violence. Everyone should be violence free. SAVESNet is a
violence free place. You should not do bad things. You should not hit
or punch anyone. (Chrishawna, 3rd grade)
“SAVESNet is a place to express your
feeling to speak what you speak and what you want. SAVESNet teaches me
how to be respectful and not violence. It teaches us how to walk away
from the trouble. I love SAVESNet” (Mar’Teonna 4, grade)
“I have learned many things from
SAVESNet from this year and last year. It is so many things I can’t
remember. I know the ground rules and other things to. I’ve been on
Peer Mediation and Leaders Lunch Crew. I wish it can go on and on.” (Jericita,
5th grade)
“I can be respectful to others. If
you are bullied go to a bully buster like Ms. Cook because no one should
be bullied.” (Renzo, 3rd grade)
“SAVESNet taught me about the
meanings of being drug, violence, and bully free. Next time, I want to
be in Leaders Lunch Crew in middle school. SAVESNet wants us to be full
of respect…SAVESNet is a lot of fun. You need to respect other things
and people around you. You also plan lots of fun events such as
Violence Free Week and the house shoe contest. Strategies Against
Violence Everywhere.” (Gabby, 5th grade)
“I step because I am proud and
because you wear nice uniforms and because you can learn nice things
about kids. You get to know what other kids like…I want to be on the
step team in 5th grade. SAVENet wants us to work good in
school and class. And in SAVESNet you get to make lots of friends.” (Devany,
3rd grade)
First, SAVESNet is about helping
others complete their dreams and to guide them through hard times and
help them to achieve their goals. It also teaches me not to put my
hands on people, to never instigate for nobody. I like SAVESNet because
if it wasn’t for SAVESNet I would be mean. I can be nicer than I am now
I choose to help special needs kids downstairs.” (Iesha, 5th
grade)
“I learned to never put my hands on
someone else, if you want to fight never do, and never be a instigator
during a fight. When you want a friend, to be a friend and treat people
nice. Even if you don’t want to know the person you should still be nice
to them. If there is a problem you should save it with a good
solution.” (Marteosha, 5th grade) |
